General Information

Lakewood Elementary School is a unique blend of tradition and innovation. This combination helps us achieve our mission: “As a Lakewood Leader, I: embrace effort and rise when I fall, exhibit empathy, and celebrate diversity.” As a Texas Education Agency exemplary school, Lakewood’s influence and opportunities give children a solid base for success in life.

Lakewood Elementary nurtures a strong level of parent and community support. As the heart of the community, the school provides a foundation for our students’ academic success and achievements. The investment in Lakewood begins early with parental involvement in the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA. Parent and community support continues through an active PTA, the Site-Based Decision Making committee, and the Dads’ Club.

 

While we respect tradition, we also understand the importance of innovation. We strive for academic excellence during the school day and with challenging extracurricular activities. We work to instill in students an enthusiasm for knowledge in each subject as we foster the ability to apply that knowledge to higher pursuits, thereby, creating citizens who will be lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
