Leader in Me 7 Habits
We are proudly a Leader in Me campus, with a social and emotional focus on building leadership. Through this program, starting in Kindergarten, we focus our students on 7 effective habits of happy kids based on Sean Covey's work. We commit ourselves to live and practive these habits explicitly and celebrate them each week with our Character Counts and Super Stallion Awards.
Gifted & Talented
With a high percentage of Gifted & Talented (G/T) indentified students, nearly all of our teacher at Lakeweood are certified and deliver the project-bases lessons from the TPSP curriculum. Additionallt, our non-identified students are part of an enrichment program using a hands-on approach with abundant opportunity for student agency.
LOLA
Our LOLA, or Lakewood Outdoor Learning Area, is a unique immersive opportunity that expands science knowledge through truly hands-on and applicable experiences. Our amazing teachers partner with the Dallas Arboretum to ensure our curriculum is aligned to our TEKS and personalized to meet the unique needs of our Stallions!
Music & Theater
Lead by Mrs. Benton and Mr. Reich, our unique musical theater program builds strong foundational skills culminating in our very own student-produced performances. In the 22-23 school year, our 4th and 5th graders put on incredible showcases, including an official Junior Broadway musical for our families and community to enjoy!
